The publication brings study results on the contribution that the protection of green areas can bring to the national economy from the benefits of goods and services offered effectively or potentially by Brazilian Conservation Units, considering all regions and biomes, in the period between 2006 and 2016. Among them are forest products, public use of protected areas, carbon storage, water production, soil protection and the generation of tax revenue for municipalities.
