"A relevant result of the research is the mismatch between the sustainability discourse declared by the financial institutions and their actions to implement a Social and Environmental Responsibility Policy (PRSA), foreseen in the Central Bank regulation. Among the main barriers to the implementation of the PRSA, the institutions point to the cost, the complexity of the ESG analysis and the lack of training of employees.

The survey also shows that most financial institutions do not have a team dedicated full-time to ESG risk assessment or to structuring green products."
